KDKP Story
Kitnay Duur Kitnay Paas is a project supported by the U.S. Consulate General in Karachi. It aims to encourage critical thinking, stronger cross-border linkages, and regional peace through film. The initiative brings together young storytellers from India and Pakistan to make films collaboratively while exchanging skills and techniques to improve the craft of filmmaking.
FILM MAKERS
42 filmmakers, ages 21-35 with some prior experience in filmmaking came together in 8 teams to produce digital stories.
These filmmakers from India and Pakistan created 8 short films in collaboration with their corresponding team members across the border. Each film was shot on both sides and tied together with themes of shared culture, history and tradition.
MENTORS
3 award winning film experts from India, Pakistan and The USA were there to guide the filmmakers through the process. They conducted various online workshops to mentor the teams on concept building, script writing, camera handling and editing.
